Building A Freestanding Wall

This is a u shaped wall constructed of 2 by 4 framing and covered in drywall which can create a barrier in one area of a room without permanently altering the layout of your home.

Freestanding walls are framed in the same manner as other interior walls. Ask a stone yard to help determine how much material you ll need and have it delivered as close to the site as possible. Attach the 1 inch pipe flanges to the underside of the lower window rail centering one under each window stile. You can use mortar to glue a freestanding stone wall together.

You can work around this problem by building a freestanding room divider. A freestanding wall doesn t have soil pushing against it like a retaining wall does so it doesn t need to be as strong.
